The Easiest Way to Set Up IPTV on a Firestick

Posted 24 Oct 2026 · 4 min read

The Amazon Firestick is probably the simplest way to turn any TV with an HDMI port into a streaming machine – and it's a favourite for IPTV in South Africa because it's cheap and it just works. If you can plug in a USB cable, you can do this. Here's the whole thing, start to finish, no tech talk.

What you'll need

  • A Firestick (any model – the 4K one is nice but not essential).
  • A TV with an HDMI port and your WiFi password.
  • Your IPTV login – the server URL, username and password we send you.

Step by step

1. Plug it in and connect to WiFi

Pop the Firestick into an HDMI port, switch the TV to that input, and follow the on-screen setup to join your home WiFi. Sign in with your Amazon account when it asks.

2. Allow apps from unknown sources

Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and switch on Apps from Unknown Sources. This just lets you install a player that isn't in Amazon's small built-in store. Nothing dodgy – it's a standard step.

3. Get a player

Search for the Downloader app and install it, or grab an IPTV player like IPTV Smarters. When you message us, we'll point you to the exact one and the download code so there's no guessing.

4. Enter your login

Open the player, choose Login with Xtream Codes, and type in the server URL, username and password we gave you. Save it.

5. Watch

That's it. Your live channels, movies and series load up with a full TV guide. Pick something and relax – you're done.

If you get stuck

Honestly, most people don't, but Firesticks can be fiddly the first time. If anything doesn't look right, send us a message on WhatsApp and we'll walk through it with you, screen by screen. We'd rather spend five minutes getting you sorted than have you give up.

Not set up with us yet? Start a free trial and we'll send the login plus the exact Firestick steps.
